THE COLLECTOR’S CASTLE
2026
The clients are a family of three who had populated their existing drawing and dining rooms with a mix of heirloom pieces, keepsakes from travels, and store bought items; however, they still felt their space looked unappealing. They desired a transformation that would showcase their collectables while also being stylish and comfortable enough to entertain parties of a dozen.
The drawing room and dining room were reimagined as a charming parlour in a transitional style: old-world charm meets contemporary living.
This required a total transformation, with an overhaul of paint and electrical, with panelling and custom cabinetry to round out the effect. In the dining room, two tall built-in cabinets were installed on either side of the window, enlarging the room and creating display space for keepsakes. An awkward niche in the dining room was transformed into a bar cabinet with storage.
A colour palette in shades of dusky rose, celadon and taupe maintained an air of playfulness, while materials travertine, rosewood, brass and marble added a classical edge.
The result is a perfectly delightful space: a little jewel box full of treasures waiting to be discovered.
