THE MOODY MODERNIST

The client is a man in his 30s in the advertising industry with an extensive art collection and one specific request: he asked to build the living room around an Eames chair.
We honoured the request by taking inspiration from mid-century modern design. A palette of muted greens, ochre, crimson and black was a nod to the era. This was accompanied by era-appropriate materials oak wood, mild steel, jute and travertine. Custom furniture - the oversized sectional sofa, cabinet, console and end table - was intentionally designed to fit this L-shaped gallery.

A striking gallery wall was designed to highlight the clients art collection, and custom lighting solutions provided an atmosphere of warmth and intimacy.
Finally, the bedroom was designed for tranquility in warm whites and taupe with accents of green and tangerine to act as an easy transition from the living room.

The result is a perfectly moody, modernist space - Eames chair included.
